Brewers Quay

Brewers Quay is going from strength to strength; welcoming more new tenants to Weymouth’s favourite shopping destination, watching current tenants expand and planning a fun packed schedule in the run up to Christmas 2009.

Two new tenants have joined the 15 current retail outlets, adding increased variety for the start of this year’s Christmas shopping extravaganza. Bracelets to Buckles, an antique jewellery shop located on the first floor, is one of the new tenants delighted to be a part of Brewers Quay. Linda Basham, owner, said, ‘It’s great to be here and ready for Christmas. I sell a huge range of well made and unusual antique jewellery that starts from £5. So there really is something to suit all budgets!”

Joining Bracelets to Buckles is high quality casual fashion shop, Drift. Previously located on Trinity St, Drift is located on the ground floor selling men’s and ladies’ fashion from the Joules label. ‘We decided to relocate to Brewers Quay as we recognised that more and more people see it as a key shopping destination in Weymouth,’ said Sally Massey, owner.

Brewers Quay is also celebrating the expansion success of existing tenants Blissful Beauty. The beauty salon owned by Shelley Brodie – Brown is extending its premises to accommodate massage and spray tan facilities and an additional therapist. ‘I am delighted to have chosen Brewers Quay,’ said Shelly, ‘My business has really taken off this year and I am looking forward to being part of the festive atmosphere.’

There are numerous Brewer’s Quay events planned for the run up to Christmas and the calendar kicks off with the Weldmar Hospice ‘Light Up A Life’, service taking place 24th November. This is an open air service which will take place in Hope Square where lights are first illuminated at special ‘Lighting Up Carol Service’ and remain lit until early January. The ever popular and stunning Santa’s Grotto will also be ready from Saturday 28th November with half of the proceeds being donated to CLIC (Cancer & Leukaemia in Childhood).

‘This has been a tough year for many businesses so we are delighted to be able to celebrate the success of our tenants. We really want the wonder of Christmas to be enjoyed at Brewers Quay and will be releasing more information about all of the festive events taking place in the next few weeks,’ commented Roger Dalton, director of Brewers Quay.
