Jurassic Coast Fundraiser ‘Souled Out’

A Jurassic Coast Party Night, a fundraising benefit for Lyme Regis Gig Club featuring soul band Souled Out, is being held at Newlands Holiday Park on Saturday, 12th November.

The entertainment includes the fabulous Bristol-based soul band Souled Out, a disco and buffet.  Also, a painting by local artist, Hugh Dunford Wood, of the building of the Gig Club’s second boat Black Ven being built will be sold by auction on the night.

All profits from the evening will go towards the building of the Club’s third traditional Cornish Pilot Gig, to be called Tempest, being constructed by local boat builder Gail McGarva.  The new gig is due to be launched in the Summer of 2012.

Tickets for the evening are just £15 and can be bought from Newlands Holiday Park on 01297 560259.

Lyme Regis Gig Club is a community group established in 2007.  Members from the area are all welcome to join in rowing with the club either as recreational rowers or as part of one of the mens, women’s or mixed racing teams who compete with more than sixty other Cornish Pilot Gig clubs across the Southwest of England.
