A group of local people have worked with Weymouth and Portland Borough Council to secure a 30 year lease at a peppercorn rent so that the hall can be used by local people for local events. The Community Interest Company ‘Guardians of the Old Town Hall’ is set up to ensure that the hall is renovated and is used by the community for the community.

Sunday saw a cold and wet day on the beach for all the competing teams in the Rotary Club organised Dragon Boating event. This year 15 teams competed and times were a little hindered by the strong off-shore wind which made the race back to the beach all the more difficult.
