Mitchel Harvey Cycle Ride

Mitchel Harvey Ride Team
A Charity Cycle Ride from Lands End to Weymouth is being attempted between 12th - 19th September 2009 in aid of The Friends of Wyvern Special School & The Mitchel Harvey Development Fund.
2009 is proving to be very challenging for all of us, we appreciate that money is tighter than ever, we know this ride will help lots of children with severe learning and physical disabilities and give much needed funds to aid mobility and therapy through play projects.
The ride will be approx: 500 kilometres from Lands End to Weymouth over 6 days the team have decided to take the coastal route as this will be more challenging.
The cyclists are funding this challenge themselves, we are going to utilize the monies collected specifically for the immediate needs of the school, their activities and to continue the support of Mitchel’s on going physical needs.

There will be 5 of us doing the trip. One of the cyclists has a son who suffers from Cerebral palsy as well as other disabilities, his name is Mitchel Harvey. Mitchel attends the Wyvern School in Weymouth which requires funding and improvements for various mobility equipment they use. This ride is in support of both charities.
We have the Dorset Echo proving support by giving us a photo shoot on Tuesday 8th September and being onsite at the ‘Admiral Hardy’ pub on Chickerell Road on the 19th September when we struggle back into Weymouth. The BBC south Team has provisionally agreed to cover this ride, the only aspect we don’t know is whether they will send a crew or we will have to visit their studio.
