WED 01    EXPLORING LIFE IN FRESHWATER
2.15 pm to 4.00 pm, Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Kingcombe Centre, Toller Porcorum, Dorchester, DT2 0EQ.  This Kingcombe Centre Wednesday Walk is perfect afternoon entertainment for children and their families as they discover the fascinating life that lurks in the river Hooke. WED 01    ANNUAL WILDLIFE FUN DAY

Enjoy a day of batty fun with the Dorset Bat Group, take part in a batty activity to earn a point on the Fun Day programme. Enter into the spirit of the day by making a bat hat or a fantastic flying bat.

TUES 07    KIDS COOKING – FLAVOURS OF THE MED
10.00 am to 2.00 pm, The Kingcombe Centre, Toller Porcorum, Dorchester, DT2 0EQ.  [ SY 553 990 ]Encourage the children to join Head Chef Cameron Farquharson for this course at the Dorset Wildlife Trust Kingcombe Centre.  Create a variety of dishes inspired by the Mediterranean such as pizzas, pastas and sauces. TUES 07    KAYAK SAFARI
The Fine Foundation Marine Centre, Kimmeridge Bay, Corfe Castle,
BH20 5PF.  [ SY 909 787 ]  Join Dorset Wildlife Trust to experience wildlife like never before in a 2-hour guided session in clear bottomed kayaks with goggle viewers in Kimmeridge Bay. There will be three 2h sessions:  £25 per person per session;  12+ yr-olds only;  max. 6 people per session. WED 08    PLANTS AND BUTTERFLIES OF POWERSTOCK COMMON

Join Maurits Fontein, Dorset Wildlife Trust West Area Warden, for this Wednesday Walk.  Powerstock Common’s ancient woodland, important neutral grassland, old hedge banks and ponds make it an exceptional area for woodland flowers and butterflies including the rare marsh fritillary.  Meet at the entrance to the reserve by the disused railway bridge at 2.15pm (OS Explorer 117 Grid Ref: 547 974).  Back to the Kingcombe Centre for tea & cake afterwards at about 4pm To book your place ring 01300 320684.  Wellies or walking boots recommended.  Adult: £6.00  child: £3.00

WED 29    KINGCOMBE LODGE FISHING LAKES
2.15 pm to 4.00 pm,  Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Kingcombe Centre, Toller Porcorum, Dorchester, DT2 0EQ.  Join Andrea Crocker for this Kingcombe Centre Wednesday Walk.  Higher Kingcombe Lodge obtained organic status in 2000 and most of the land is now pasture for an organic dairy herd.  It is peppered with underground springs that brim with sweet, fresh, Dorset water.  To best use this natural asset, a series of spring-fed lakes have been constructed.  The walk will be followed by afternoon tea & cake.  To book your place ring 01300 320684.  Wellies or walking boots recommended.  Adult: £6.00  child: £3.00
