Saatchi & Saatchi Creative Director to Support Countywide Creative Excellence Seminar; Creativity Works: Dorset

 

 

Clive Cobb, former Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi is one of the keynote speakers at the new free creative seminar, Creativity Works: Dorset. Dominic Tambling of Creative Dorset, Lisa Worthington from Tandem Marketing and Ross Cleaver of Revolting Art & Design are working collaboratively to deliver the seminar will take place on 26th May 2010 at Dusk nightclub in Weymouth.

This whole day seminar is for creative and non-creative businesses in Dorset wanting to know more about how creative excellence can deliver increased commercial success. The event will focus on a number of key areas:

·         How creative agencies and clients can work more effectively together to deliver mutual commercial success.

·         Recognising the opportunities that the 2012 Games present as a catalyst for delivering county wide creative excellence.

·         The importance of investing time and money in creative talent to deliver increased profits for businesses.

·         Celebrating the county of Dorset as a hub of creative talent

·         Challenging preconceptions about creative talent outside major metropolitan areas.

The event has secured a number of high profile speakers including Executive Producer Roz Houchin from Pulse Films, London the TV Ad production company for T-Mobile and Nike. Roz will be speaking about ‘Nurturing Creative Talent and Striving to Inspire Your Client.’

 

 

Clive Cobb, ex Saatchi & Saatchi will be talking about ‘Achieving Creative Excellence Through Brand Stories.’

Matt Desmier, Arts University College Bournemouth will be talking about Dorset Design Forum and will also deliver a themed speech on ‘The Value of Creativity in Your Organisation.’

There will also be break-out workshops delivered by local business leaders, covering areas that directly affect creative excellence including;

 

·         Intellectual Property, what is it, how do you protect it with Peter Livingstone, Battens Solicitors

·         The importance of presentation  with Michael Shier, Bind to Present

·         Business Planning including Creativity with Anna Traylor, South West Design Programme

·         Collaborating Creatively, working together to meet the challenges of 2012 with Gary Fooks, Team Dorset

·         How to write inspiring creative briefs with Lisa Worthington Tandem Marketing

 

Included in the event will be a Market Place where local creative businesses will be exhibiting their services, entertainment and a screening of the film ‘Helvetica’.

 

‘Dorset is a county where there is exceptional creative talent and this needs to be celebrated,’ said Dominc Tambling, Creative Dorset. ‘The purpose of the event is to demonstrate the importance of investing in creative services in delivering commercial success. It’s also about inspiring people to approach and work with bigger brands that would normally use metropolitan based creative services’.
